Testing For Foodborne Pathogens
Foodborne pathogens pose a serious problem in the United States. Five million illnesses and four thousand deaths are attributed to meat and poultry products annually. With the increased public concern surrounding food borne pathogens, laboratories are under considerable pressure to provide detailed analyses in meat-related areas.
PDC Laboratories microbiological analyses are performed using culture, biochemical and optical methods. When indicator organisms levels exceed pre-set triggers, specific analysis for pathogens may then be undertaken and these can be quickly detected (where suspected) using specific culture methods.
