Waste Characterization

Waste characterization is the process by which any material is examined for characteristics or constituents of concern for waste classification purposes, and determining the proper means and manner of transportation and/or disposal within regulatory guidelines. PDC Laboratories' analytical methodologies are designed to determine the four regulatory characteristics of hazardous waste: Ignitability (D001), Corrosivity (D002), Reactivity (D003) and Toxicity (D004-D043). These tests can include Metals, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs), Pesticides, Herbicides, Phenolics and Halogens.

State regulatory agencies and other disposal companies may require additional constituent analysis before accepting a waste. PDC Laboratories is capable of performing most analyses to meet these requirements.
